Keeping up with the Joneses has become old hat in the search engine industry. In fact, it could be argued that other companies following the lead of a successful venture or idea have driven the growth of the search industry. With this in mind, to coincide with the launch of their search engine, MSN Search has also introduced a blog to keep readers abreast of upcoming developments and innovations.

MSN's activities seem to follow the blueprint set down by Yahoo and Google. Offer a couple of new features, do a relaunch of some sort, and launch a blog to give users a place where they can learn about and comment on the MSN Search. The introduction paragraph indicates as much by saying:

"On behalf of the MSN Search team I'm very pleased to announce that we've begun the worldwide rollout of our new algorithmic search service Beta release. I invite you to check it out at http://beta.search.msn.com/ and send us feedback via the "help us improve" links. You can identify the Beta version by the text "Search (beta)" next to the MSN butterfly logo."

Like all good blogs, MSN's allows users to comment on postings and also offers an RSS feed.
