Using Windows XP Movie Maker For Simple Videos

Looking to put together a touching video for a friend's wedding, or a simple montage of your family? If you own Windows XP, then you more than likely have the tools needed to put one together yourself. Simply go into the Start menu, and glide over 'All Programs' and you should find a program called Windows Movie Maker. It won't be in a folder, unless you've put it there prior.



Upon opening Movie Maker, you should be met with this screen (minus the photo):



At first view you might be intimidated by all the features. I assure you it's all simplistic, but also allowing you the ability to put together a tightly woven video.

On the left hand side of the screen is your "Tasks" screen, this will help you get started on the most important aspects of your project.



Your first task should be importing all the files you'll be wanting to include in your movie. You can import videos, images, and audio/music.
